After a very long few days, this morning I have been moving kind of slow, still tired and achy. So I have been catching up with some of the blogs I like to read. I read that Jane at http://flwrjane-smallbutcharming.blogspot.com/ was hosting her flowers in the house today for the month of February. I had hoped to have a whole bunch of anemones available for this Valentine’s Day. We had started them earlier and babied them along in hopes of so many wonderful blooms for our designers. But alas, Mother Nature had other plans. We have been hit with two uncharacteristic weather events for Oregon. First some bitterly cold weather that lasted two plus weeks and more recent a major snow and ice rain dump this past week. Knowing that the cold weather was coming, we went out to cover all our flowers with frost blankets but before doing so, I harvested just a few sweet anemones that were blooming. Not many and not very tall but if they made the effort to bloom, I was going to enjoy them in our home. So these are all the flowers we have right now. Everything is still covered with snow but it is slowly melting away. Just hoping Mother Nature thinks that is enough drama for us this season and starts the move toward Spring . We are so ready for Spring.
