Slow Growing Lisianthus

Growing lisianthus requires a major amount of patience.  The photos included were taken today, which is about a month from when I seeded them.  To see them, I need the zoom lens and a magnifying glass to see the tiny little sprouts.  Everyday morning I give them a spritz to keep them moist, provide some encouraging words to grow and tamp down my impatience and panic that I have made a mistake and nothing will germinate.  They seem to be there and will grow on so very slowly.  I know we could get plugs….but after bringing them to market, we were asked what other colors do they come in and so we want to try so many colors and doing the plugs gets rather expensive.  Besides we are pretty stubborn and will work to figure out a problem before going a different way.  So I must stay calm and look at the photos of the gorgeous blooms and remind myself, it will be so worth it if I remain patient and let the lissies grow.
